Attorneys’ Fees and Interest Awards in Construction Liens

Under the Florida Construction Lien Law, the prevailing party is entitled to an award of reasonable attorney’s fees. Attorney’s fees are taxed as costs in a lien foreclosure action. The purpose of the statute is to provide full compensation for the lienor. However, it also protects the owners should the lienors pursue a lien for which they are not entitled.
