Michael Chapnick joined the firm in 2015 after he founded and managed the Boca Raton-based law firm of Chapnick Community Association Law from 2004 to 2015. Under his leadership, the law firm grew to become a highly successful and respected boutique practice focusing exclusively on community association law and serving more than 300 associations primarily in Palm Beach County.
Prior to founding his own practice, Chapnick had focused on community association law at several of the South Florida area’s largest firms with association practices. He first began working with associations in Illinois in 1996, and he has extensive experience in working with all types of associations including: condominiums, homeowners’ associations, cooperatives, time-shares, and deed restricted communities. He regularly advises clients on all aspects of community association operations, and he has also lectured on numerous association-related issues throughout his career.
Chapnick is currently a member of the Southeast Florida Chapter of the Community Association Institute and has served on the Gold Coast Chapter’s Board of Directors and its Program Committee, and he has also served as its delegate for the Florida Legislative Alliance. Chapnick is a past member of the ABA Law Practice Division’s E-Lawyering Task Force.
Chapnick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland in 1989 and his Juris Doctor Cum Laude from the Detroit College of Law in 1995.
